Enjoy your summer and plan to join us this September for the 2019 Seacoast Century!

Your hosts, the Granite State Wheelers

Some New Faces and a Larger Team (with Room to Grow!)

We are pleased to announce that Molly Lunn Owen has agreed to serve as the 2019 Seacoast Century Director.  A 12-person Century Leadership Team will assist Molly, with former Century Coordinators Donna Hepp & Mark MacKenzie serving as coaches. This team approach was agreed upon by the GSW Board during our last call. With Molly's love for cycling, experience in event management, and background working in the nonprofit sector with communities and volunteers we are in good hands.

Our 46th annual Seacoast Century on September 20-22nd 2019 offers the same great routes as last year with 25, 50, 65 and 100 mile options on Saturday and Sunday. Early registration is $55 and available here: (our first increase in two years - insurance and operating costs keep going up!). Registration includes a Century t-shirt, rest stop goodies, technical support for riders, and soup & rolls at the ride's end. Ride proceeds support bicycle safety and advocacy in New Hampshire.

Volunteers are absolutely the most critical part of this all-volunteer event. Would you consider helping us this year? Ride for free, meet and work with Club members from across the state, earn a Century volunteer shirt, and enjoy all the soup and sandwiches you can eat! Volunteers of all ages are welcome. You can view available volunteer tasks and choose one (or several!) here: . Century Volunteer Coordinator Dave Topham can be reached at 603.898.5479 or if you have questions about volunteer roles.

We need over 100 volunteers to support the Century.  Partnering with local volunteer groups helps, but the majority of our on-site volunteers come from the Club and are key to our success. Please share this opportunity with members of your family or community who could gain or share their skills for a great cause.

Beyond our one-day volunteer roles, we are building a strong 2019 Seacoast Century Team. This team will work with the Century Director to improve and better distribute the workload for this volunteer-run event.

2019 Century Team members include:

Century Director : Molly Lunn Owen
Volunteer Coordinator : Dave Topham
Route & Marking Coordinator : Bill Kennedy
BikeReg & Outreach : Donna Hepp*
Permits & Police Details : Donna Hepp*
Food & Supplies Coordinator : Patty Tompkins
Merchandise Coordinator : Joanna Bligh
Sponsorship : Bill Hayne
Data Management : Mark St. Dennis

We are looking to fill additional leadership team roles, including those marked with an asterisk (*) to work with Donna on the BikeReg site, event outreach, permits, and police detail coordination. Please contact Molly at if you are interested in joining our Century leadership team or have questions about these roles.

We look forward to volunteering and riding with you this September!
